Anna Hatke is a poet, essayist, bread baker, and border-dweller. Her work centers on the fertile dialectic of wilderness and domesticity, place-making and sanctuary, and inscribing poems as objects. Her article “Requiem in a World Wood” was published in the UK journal The Dark Mountain Project. When she is not homeschooling or writing, she is usually wandering in the mountains, either outside her door in the Massanutten range of Virginia or those of her ancestral home in the Italian Apennines.
