Douglas L. Brown was born in Seattle and raised in a forest environment outside of town. Always fascinated with making images, he earned a degree in photography in 1978. For the next few decades he worked as a carpenter/woodworker. Now retired, he has more time to pursue the joy of photographing nature. These days he mostly photographs birds.
