Laura Johnson

Laura Johnson is a multidisciplinary lecturer at Humboldt State University. She holds a PhD in geography from Michigan State University, an MA in international studies from East Carolina University, and a BA in journalism and mass communication from University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill. Laura has published work in the Journal of Rural Studies; Gender, Place, and Culture; Journal of Sustainability Education; and Journal of Cultural Geography. She has also published book chapters as well as columns and cover stories for weekly newspapers. She lives with her husband, Nick, in Humboldt County, California, where they are building a permaculture homestead, operating a cottage food business, and cohabiting with their sweet dogs, Moxey and Okja, and cats, Gillian and Toto.
