Thorpe Moeckel
Thorpe teaches at Hollins University and lives in and explores the wilds of western Virginia, often with his children. Awarded a 2011 NEA Fellowship in poetry, his fourth collection, Arcadia Road: A Trilogy, was published in fall 2015 by Etruscan Press. A nonfiction book, Watershed Days, was published in spring 2015. Stacy Brenner
Stacy Brenner lives in Maine with her husband and two daughters. They raise vegetables and flowers on their organic farm. Stacy’s focus is on the flowers, which she arranges for weddings and other events. She also finds beauty in old wood, rusty metal, and all the fruits of her labor. Shari Altman
Shari Altman is a writer, photographer, and administrative assistant, who lives in rural Vermont with her husband, three cats, seven chickens, and a few hives of bees. She is the co-founder of Literary North, an organization that provides a carefully selected calendar of literary events in Vermont and New Hampshire and partners with the local literary community to promote and host literary-related events. For the past several years, she has had a quarterly column in Amirisu magazine. Lately, she's all about dahlias, fried okra, her monthly writing group, and weekend trips to New York City.
Rikki Snyder
Rikki is a freelance photographer, stylist and writer currently residing in Queens, New York. She grew up in the heart of the beautiful Hudson Valley with a wonderful family focused on food. Phoebe Wahl
Phoebe grew up unschooled in Washington state and credits her 'free range' childhood for much of her inspiration and work ethics. She graduated from RISD in 2013 and makes everything from tiny paintings to giant puppets. Her work revolves around themes of comfort, nostalgia and connection to nature and one another. Kristen Johns is an artist and plant enthusiast living on the west coast of Canada. Kirsten K. Shockey
Kirsten K. Shockey is the coauthor, with her husband, Christopher Shockey, of The Big Book of Cidermaking; Miso, Tempeh, Natto & Other Tasty Ferments; Fiery Ferments; and the best-selling Fermented Vegetables. Books that came from their desires to both help people eat in new ways, both for the health of themselves and the planet. They got their start in fermenting foods over twenty years ago on a 40-acre hillside smallholding which grew into their local organic food company, Kirsten realized that her passion lay in the wish to both teach people how to ferment and push this culinary art to new flavors. She leads experiential workshops worldwide and online helping people to make, enjoy and connect with their food through fermentation. Julia is an independent journalist, farminista, and micro-press publisher. John Bliss
John spends most days plugged in to highbrow podcasts on his smartphone while he cultivates ten acres of cut flowers and organic mixed vegetables in southern Maine. Jessica Ojala is a mother, photographer, garden tender and flower grower. She lives in northern Vermont with her husband and two daughters.
