Shari Altman
Shari Altman is a writer, photographer, and administrative assistant, who lives in rural Vermont with her husband, three cats, seven chickens, and a few hives of bees. She is the co-founder of Literary North, an organization that provides a carefully selected calendar of literary events in Vermont and New Hampshire and partners with the local literary community to promote and host literary-related events. For the past several years, she has had a quarterly column in Amirisu magazine. Lately, she's all about dahlias, fried okra, her monthly writing group, and weekend trips to New York City.

Rikki is a freelance photographer, stylist and writer currently residing in Queens, New York. She grew up in the heart of the beautiful Hudson Valley with a wonderful family focused on food. Lori Evert
Lori Evert is the author of six children’s books, including the New York Times Bestseller, The Christmas Wish. She also works as prop, set and wardrobe stylist for commercial photography. Lori enjoys photography, travel, skiing, paddle boarding, swimming, reading, drawing, and being a mom. She lives with her family in Minneapolis, where they have a sauna on their roof.
Lisa Congdon
Fine artist and illustrator Lisa Congdon is best known for her colorful abstract paintings, intricate line drawings, pattern design & hand lettering. She works for clients around the world including the MoMA, Harvard University, Martha Stewart Living, Chronicle Books, Simon & Schuster, and Random House Publishing, among many others. She exhibits her work around the country, including in shows at the Contemporary Jewish Museum and Bedford Gallery in California. A selection of her works are currently available through New York’s Uprise Gallery. Lisa writes a popular daily blog about her work, life and inspiration called Today is Going to be Awesome. She is the author of six books, including the starving-artist-myth-smashing Art Inc: The Essential Guide to Building Your Career as an Artist, and illustrated books The Joy of Swimming, Fortune Favors the Brave, Whatever You Are, Be a Good One, Twenty Ways to Draw a Tulip and A Collection a Day. Her seventh book, A Glorious Freedom: Older Women Leading Extraordinary Lives will be released by Chronicle Books in October 2017. She was named one of 40 Women Over 40 to Watch in 2015. She lives and works in Portland, Oregon.
Lara Call Gastinger
Lara Call Gastinger is a botanical artist and illustrator in Charlottesville, Virginia and was the chief illustrator for the Flora of Virginia. She received a gold medal at the Royal Horticultural Society garden show in London and her work has been in several national exhibits including acceptance into the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation.

Kristina Mercedes Urquhart
Kristina is originally from Key West, Florida. Now an Art Therapist living in Asheville, North Carolina, she raises chickens, tends to hives of honeybees, gardens, preserves food, and raises fiber and meat rabbits with her husband on their four-acre homestead. She is a freelance writer and has regular columns in Urban Farm and Chickens magazines.
Kirsten K. Shockey
Kirsten K. Shockey is the coauthor, with her husband, Christopher Shockey, of The Big Book of Cidermaking; Miso, Tempeh, Natto & Other Tasty Ferments; Fiery Ferments; and the best-selling Fermented Vegetables. Books that came from their desires to both help people eat in new ways, both for the health of themselves and the planet. They got their start in fermenting foods over twenty years ago on a 40-acre hillside smallholding which grew into their local organic food company, Kirsten realized that her passion lay in the wish to both teach people how to ferment and push this culinary art to new flavors. She leads experiential workshops worldwide and online helping people to make, enjoy and connect with their food through fermentation. Julie Letowski lives in Maine with her family where the days are long, the love is sweet, and the life is good.
