Issue 25 Errata :: Hearthstone Shawl

We've found a small correction to the lace edging in the Hearthstone Shawl pattern by Amanda Hester Smith in our current issue, HEARTH. While the pattern for the edging as written knits up quite nicely, it does not quite match the shawl as photographed. In order to achieve the design as photographed in the magazine, follow the below pattern and chart.

Shawl Edging

Using CC, smaller needles, and beginning at the cast on corner, pick up & knit 107 sts along the slipped st side, picking up under 3 strands. Knit across live sts on needle. 217 sts total.

Knit 3 rows even.

Change to larger needles and work Lace Edge Chart.

Rows 1, 3, 5, and 7 (RS): K2tog, *ssk, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, k2tog, sl2-k1-p2sso, repeat from * to last 11 sts, ssk, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, k2tog, ssk.

Rows 2, 4, 6, and 8: Purl.

Should you choose to follow the edging pattern as written, please note it should say "...continue to knit across the live sts on the circ -- 216 sts total" not "16 sts total."

The full pattern can be found in the Hands section of Issue 25 :: HEARTH

Our apologies!  Happy knitting!
