Materials and instructions to make:
one made owl (3" x 4")
one baby owl (1 3/4" x 1 3/4")
two twin baby owls (1 1/2" x 1 1/x")
two eggs (1" x 1 1/4")
one nest (3" x 1")

Materials & Tools:
10" x 10" piece of off-white wool felt
10" x 1" piece of butter yellow wool felt
3 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of butter yellow wool felt
10" x 1" piece of soft brown wool felt
off white, black, and ochre embroidery floss
stuffing (about 9 grams)
sewing needle
6 straight pins
instruction booklet with photos
guides to basic stitches

Meet the Maker: Kata Golda
Kata Golda is a craft studio in the mossy seaside town of Port Townsend, WA run by Taproot Contributor Alison Kaplan.  The business is named after Alison’s great grandmothers who laid the foundation for hand work in her family. Kata Golda preserves and promotes crafts such as needlework, letterpress, pottery, hand-dyed textiles, stitched felt and bookbinding. Alison finds inspiration for her work in the woods, farmlands and beaches of her Pacific Northwest wonderland.
