Materials and instructions to make:
one made owl 3 x 4 inches
one baby owl 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches
two twin baby owls 1 1/2 x 1 1/x inches
two eggs 1 x 1 1/4 inches
one nest 3 x 1 inches

Materials & Tools:
10 x 10 inches piece of off-white wool felt
10 x 1 inches piece of butter yellow wool felt
3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches piece of butter yellow wool felt
10 x 1 inches piece of soft brown wool felt
off white, black, and ochre embroidery floss
stuffing (about 9 grams)
sewing needle
6 straight pins

guides to basic stitches

Meet the Maker: Kata Golda
Kata Golda is a craft studio in the mossy seaside town of Port Townsend, WA run by Taproot Contributor Alison Kaplan.  The business is named after Alison’s great grandmother who laid the foundation for hand work in her family. Kata Golda preserves and promotes crafts such as needlework, letterpress, pottery, hand-dyed textiles, stitched felt and bookbinding. Alison finds inspiration for her work in the woods, farmlands and beaches of her Pacific Northwest wonderland.
