Mason Jar Cozy Kit
This kit includes everything you need to make the DIY Mason Jar Cozy, as featured in Issue 40::CURE from Alison Kaplan, the maker behind Kata Golda handmade. Kit includes instructions, but we recommend pairing with the magazine for complete details and photos. happy stitching!
This kit is designed to fit a large (quart) size jar.
(2) 4.5 x 12-inch pieces of plant-dyed organic cotton/hemp
(2) 4.5 x 2.5-inch pieces of plant-dyed organic cotton/hemp, to cover elastic
1 piece of wool felt (NOTE: the felt provided will need to be trimmed to size)
1 1.5 inch length of 4-inch-wide elastic
embroidery floss, 4 colors
plus: instructions, embroidery templates, all wrapped inside a taproot drawstring bag.
from home you'll need: tape measure or ruler, sharp scissors, sewing machine (unless you are hand-stitching the cozy, which works too.)

Meet the Maker: Kata Golda
Kata Golda is a craft studio in the mossy seaside town of Port Townsend, WA run by Taproot Contributor Alison Kaplan. The business is named after Alison’s great grandmothers who laid the foundation for hand work in her family. Kata Golda preserves and promotes crafts such as needlework, letterpress, pottery, hand-dyed textiles, stitched felt and bookbinding. Alison finds inspiration for her work in the woods, farmlands and beaches of her Pacific Northwest wonderland.
