Taproot Craft Scissors
These adorable Taproot scissor + case sets were made specially for Taproot readers and enthusiasts by contributor and maker Kata Golda, in celebration of--you guessed it--three of our favorite taproots!
These machine-stitched wool felt scissor + case sets are the perfect way to keep your favorite sewing scissors safe and easy to find in your sewing bag. Each set features a hand-stitched taproot design backed with organic cotton/hemp fabric that has been plant-dyed, and comes with a set of small crafting scissors inside.
Case measures 2.5 inches across at the top. 4.5 inch long. A pair of lovely 3.75 inch long snips to treasure is included.
Choose from Carrot, Beet or Dandelion designs.
CARROT: grey wool felt with organic cotton/ hemp plant dyed light orange interior flap with orange highlights.
BEET: off white wool felt with organic cotton/ hemp plant dyed red interior flap and cranberry red highlights.
DANDELION: butter yellow wool felt with organic cotton/ hemp plant dyed ochre interior flap and bright yellow highlights.
Meet the Maker: Kata Golda x Taproot
These goods are made by Kata Golda in a special collaboration with Taproot. Kata Golda is a craft studio in the mossy seaside town of Port Townsend, WA run by Alison Kaplan. The business is named after Alison’s great grandmothers who laid the foundation for hand work in her family. A flourishing business, Kata Golda preserves crafts such as needlework, letterpress, pottery, hand-dyed textiles, stitched felt and bookbinding. Alison finds inspiration for her work in the woods, farmlands and beaches of her Pacific Northwest wonderland.
