Thorpe teaches at Hollins University and lives in and explores the wilds of western Virginia, often with his children. Awarded a 2011 NEA Fellowship in poetry, his fourth collection, Arcadia Road: A Trilogy, was published in fall 2015 by Etruscan Press. A nonfiction book, Watershed Days, was published in spring 2015.
