Shipping Information

Due to increased shipping costs and frequent delays and lost packages, we are temporarily pausing all international product shipping, excluding subscriptions. If you are looking to place a special order email Thank you for your understanding!

GIFT SUBSCRIPTIONS: The ship to address you entered during the ordering process is the ONLY address we mail the subscription to. The addresses listed below on the receipt are for administrative purposes only.  

ALL ORDERS: Please check your SHIPPING address. If you used Paypal for this order, your address may be inaccurate. Paypal often has old addresses. 

SUBSCRIPTION TIMING: Subscriptions start with our next issue. Taproot Magazine is bi-monthly. The first issue of a subscription may take 1-3 months (US) and 2-4 months (International) to kick on. Once you receive your first issue, the subsequent issues will arrive bi-monthly. Taproot Magazine is worth the wait! We have back issues available on our website that typically ship in 3-5 business days.  

TAPROOT GOODS AND BACK ISSUES: All non subscription items ship from the Taproot Warehouse in Portland, Maine. Standard shipping rates and delivery times apply. USPS is our first choice for shipping.    

GENERAL INFO ABOUT MAGAZINE MAILING: Taproot is an ad-free publication.  Our subscriptions mail as periodicals, and may take longer than modern internet shoppers are accustomed. Your first issue of Taproot Magazine may take slightly longer to hit your mailbox.  We are just as excited as you are for your first issue to arrive. Once your subscription kicks on you will enjoy bi-monthly nurturing articles for makers, doers & dreamers.  

RETURNS: Regular priced items are eligible for return. Sale items are non returnable. 

Please contact us via phone or email to receive a return authorization prior to shipping your return item.

Proof of purchase required for all returns. 
Returns accepted within 30 days of shipment.

To return your product, you should mail your product to:

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

For exchanges in advance of product return, we will require payment for the new product and shipping (if applicable). You will be credited for the returned merchandise within 5 days of its arrival at our warehouse. Please be aware that it can take 1-3 days for the credit to post to your account.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

What about magazine subscriptions? Can I cancel?

Subscriptions are non-refundable. 


Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If your return is approved, then your refund will be processed.

International Shipping Disclaimer

The recipient is the importer of record and as such is responsible for assuring the product(s) they purchased can be lawfully imported to the destination country and must comply with all laws and regulations of said country. The customer is also responsible for payment of all levied sales tax, duties and customs charges, which are determined and enforced by local governments and vary by country. Duties, taxes and/or customs fees are an additional amount collected upon delivery of your order and we are unable to provide you with an estimate of those fees. Please contact your local government for specific details. Your order confirmation details only the amount collected by Taproot Magazine. By completing your order you agree to pay all applicable fees. If you refuse or return your order, no international shipping charges or fees paid to local governments will be refunded. We will refund the original purchase price of the product if the returned/refused goods arrive back to our Portland, ME, address in original condition.
