Meet the Maker: Cameoko
Camille Kohler is the artist and maker behind Cameoko, a line of jewelry that combines resin with crushed gemstones, metallic flakes, pigments and more. Camille spent time living in Georgia, New Jersey and Minnesota as a child and attended the University of Minnesota for two years (go gophers!) before transferring to the University of Georgia and earning a BFA in Photography. After a career path in photography for a number of years, as well as time spent in the fine jewelry world, jewelry design became more of a passion when she found herself at home with a newborn baby, and away from the corporate world. This renewed desire to create with her hands led to the formation of Cameoko in 2008, when she began selling work primarily at craft shows and small boutiques in the southeast. Camille works with resin full time in her home studio in Atlanta and in her spare time is interested in creating art with her young girls and traveling.
